Against the Grain (ATG) is a Vermont based gluten and grain-free bread company. For 15 years, all products have been made in ATG’s dedicated commercial bakery in Brattleboro, Vermont. Our company is committed to the local community from sourcing local ingredients to employing a local team of 90+ people. ATG’s products are gluten-free, grain-free, all natural, non-GMO, and made with simple ingredients everyone can understand. We offer consumers a range of products including 10 and 12-inch pizzas, baguettes, rolls, and bagels in a range of flavors.

THE OPPORTUNITY:
We are looking for a self-starter and driven individual to join Against the Grain as an Operations Coordinator. This individual will work with our Operations & R&D team to deliver the short- & long-term goals for our in-house manufacturing facility. Key responsibilities include working with leadership to set priorities, managing master workplan, leading projects, working with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors. The Operations Coordinator will report into the Plant Manager at Against the Grain and be a key contributor to our long-term growth plans.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Work with the Plant Manager to set priorities for the team
• Manage master project plan for Operations and R&D projects
• Facilitate weekly meeting with key stakeholders to discuss progress, track next steps, and escalate decisions
• Lead the set-up of new projects including scope, timeline, costs, and working team
• Own cross-functional projects related to Manufacturing, Innovation, and Packaging
• Work closely with cross-functional teams (Finance, Sales, R&D) to understand project dependencies
• Work with leadership team on assessing co-manufacturing & co-packing solutions
• Engage with third-party vendors at the early stages of a project
  
  

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree
• Proven experience in managing complex projects from start-up to completion; must be detailed oriented and organized
• Knowledge of food manufacturing  
• Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills
• Proficiency in full Microsoft Office suite, especially with Excel and PowerPoint
